Don't get too many keyboards
Got myself a Keychron K2 HE with the wooden sides. It is pretty pleasant to work with, way better than my Nuphy Air60 v2. Has the F keys row and dedicated ` so I don't have to worry about it when writing code.
Have been a rollercoaster of a few weeks alright. At least I'm done with all the major purchases that I have to do this year. I'm good until PS6 is released or something like that.
It is now all about making sure that everything is ready for the little one that is joining us in this world.
Last weekend, I got my mother in law and father in law to convert to Linux. Mama is now happily using Ubuntu, so is papa. I did not have to do much with the MIL side, she barely boots her laptop still wanter to make sure in case she would need to join.
Pops on the other hand did the mistake that a lot of new Linux users do. Rely on AI and randomly enter commands. I understood that the file and directory permissions were toast after his maintenance, so I had to fix it and explain to him that this was not the way to go.
Got myself on the Arch ecosystem again. Niri has become amazing and is now my daily driver.

I have to say, yalter is amazing for creating https://github.com/niri-wm/niri . It now hits all the checkboxes for me, runs fine on both Nvidia and AMD, Intel and pretty much everything that I use it for. Back a year or two I actually made an issue about displaylink docs, and some maintainers and people who want to help actually came up with a PR that fixed it for many people. It was the first time I made an issue that actually led to something improving, on Github.
Speaking of Github, it isn't that reliable anymore, is it? Many downtimes, much drama. Lots of issues every day. Almost like it is being vibe coded every day, causing breakage.
I made myself a self hosted git server just in case I'd need it later. So far it works well, I just need to add all my devices in there. After my daughter is born, I plan to have a self-improvement bootcamp of my own to improve my coding abilities. It is absolutely needed and required. I do not want my skills to atrophy, and I need to also learn some new skills. Still unsure if it will be Go, Rust or something else (Scale points to Rust for now but we never know).
I guess that is all for now.
